If you store inventory in multiple locations, the "Warehouses" management tab is a tool you might want to use to track your inventory across locations.
How to use Warehouses:
Navigate to Manage Company > Advanced > Warehouses to get started.
Instead of using the "Warehouse Qty" column in Items to enter a total warehouse qty, you will now use Warehouses to enter this inventory.
Toggle the "Disable Multiple Warehouses" off for the multiple warehouses feature to enable. Next, enter your warehouse names into the "Warehouse Name" box and select "Add Warehouse". Repeat this process for each warehouse. The warehouses entered will automatically be checked off as "Active", meaning items with inventory associated with the selected warehouses will be used in the total inventory calculation. If you no longer want a warehouse to be included in this total, uncheck the box next to the warehouse name, then run a forecast to recalculate inventory.
Next, you will add inventory to the warehouses through the "Add New" button or through a bulk upload.
Using "Add New", you will select the Item Name and Warehouse Name the inventory is associated with, and then enter the quantity and save. Repeat this for all product inventory.
To upload inventory in bulk, select Bulk Management, Download Default Required Template if needed, and then select Upload Data to enter warehouse inventory. If you are adding new entries, such as inventory for an item or warehouse location that has not been entered in Warehouses yet, select "Create New Entries". If you are modifying existing warehouse quantities, select "Update Existing Entries.
Your file should contain columns listing the Item Name, the Warehouse Name, and the Warehouse Qty. You can upload inventory for multiple warehouses in one file, or you can upload data for each warehouse individually.
Note: If you are downloading inventory data from another system to then upload here, additional data in the file is allowed, just make sure you add a column for Warehouse Name and enter the warehouse name as shown in ForecastRx for each row of data.
Once uploaded into Warehouses, the inventory data will display a total warehouse inventory for each item, as well as inventory per location.
Updating warehouse inventory:
To update warehouse inventory in the Warehouses grid, select the quantity under the Warehouse Qty column to edit the number of units. If you wish to update an inventory quantity to 0, either enter 0 in the Warehouse Qty column or delete the data by selecting the checkbox and then selecting "Delete Item(s)". Run a forecast after to recalculate your recommendations.
To update warehouse inventory via bulk upload, select Bulk Management > Download Data, modify the quantities under the Warehouse Qty column in your spreadsheet, then select Bulk Management > Upload Data > Update Existing Entries to submit your changes. Run a forecast to recalculate your recommendations.
If you are downloading inventory data from another source to modify the inventory in Warehouses, double-check that your file includes columns for Item Name, Warehouse Name, and Warehouse Qty, then upload using Bulk Management > Upload Data > Update Existing Entries.
How multiple warehouses affect your recommendations:
You will no longer update "Warehouse Qty" in Items. Items will show you a total warehouse quantity from the active warehouse inventory entered in Warehouses. This total will then be used as your Warehouse Qty for your Purchasing recommendations, so all inventory you want to be taken into account as active inventorywill be included. If you want to store inventory data for a warehouse but do not want it to be included in your recommendations, deselect the Warehouse Name for the corresponding warehouse. If you no longer wish to use the multiple warehouse feature at all, toggle on the "Disable Multiple Warehouses" and then you will be able to enter Warehouse Qty into Items once again.
