ForecastRx provides the option to modify sales history to adjust for stockouts, one-time promotions, and to facilitate changes in trend. You can modify sales history for individual items by editing cells in the Item History window, or continue reading for advanced features.
There are two methods to edit item history in bulk with ForecastRx. You can either override the existing sales history or add to it. This process can be done for up to a full 4 years of sales history, for a single item or multiple items at a time. Start by navigating to Manage Company > Advanced > Edit Item History. In this section, you will be able to search for a particular item by SKU (or ASIN if an Amazon user) and can view/edit item history in the grid, or use the Bulk Management feature to upload in bulk as described below.
Modify history in bulk for single items:
To edit a single item's history in bulk, select Bulk Management > Download Template first. The template will have a similar layout to the grid above. Fill in the SKU you would like to update under the SKU column and then input the changes, in units, to the corresponding cells. You can either enter updates as overrides to the current history or as additional sales history. Once this is complete, save your file, select Bulk Management > Edit as overrides or Add to existing history > Single. Follow the guided steps in the upload tool and click submit to complete editing the sales history.
If you search for the item on this page, or within Items > Item History, the overrides will be automatically enabled and highlighted in yellow. Your modifications will not be updated and affect the forecast until you run a forecast. At any time, you can modify the history again or toggle overrides off to use recognized sales history only; remember to run a forecast after any changes.
Modify history in bulk for multiple items:
To edit multiple items' history in bulk, select Bulk Management > Download Template first. The template will have a similar layout to the grid above. Enter each SKU four times in the SKU column, one to match each Date Range. Duplicate the four date ranges for each additional SKU descending in the Date Range column, then input your changes, in units, to the corresponding cells. Leave all cells you are not modifying blank (example below). You can either enter updates as overrides to the current history or as additional sales history. Once this is complete, save your file, select Bulk Management > Edit as overrides or Add to existing history > Multiple. Follow the guided steps in the upload tool and click submit to complete editing the sales history.
If you search for an item on this page, or within Items > Item History, the overrides will be automatically enabled and highlighted in yellow. Your modifications will not be updated and affect the forecast until you run a forecast. At any time, you can modify the history again or toggle overrides off to use recognized sales history only; remember to run a forecast after any changes.
